Northwest Man Dies in Hospital
Alton Firestone, 59, died at Angola Cameron Hospital this morning after an illness of several weeks. He was a resident of Northwest Township, north of Columbia.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Christian Church at Columbia. Burial will be in the Columbia Cemetery. Rev. Garrison Roebuck will officiate and Rev. Thomas Friskney will assist.
He is survived by his wife, Effie, a daughter, Mrs. kathryn Harmes, Edon, a son, Carlton Firestone, Montgomery, Mich., three grandchildren. There are two sisters, Mrs. Luella Norrick, New Haven, Ind., and Mrs. Helen Berry, Fort Wayne. His mother, Mrs. Hulda Firestone, lives at Fort Wayne.
The body is at the Deams Funeral Home at Fremont, Ind. but friends may call at the residence after 4 p.m. Friday.

Alton Brosy Firestone was born April 2, 1893, the son of Huldah and Sherd Firestone. He was a life time resident of Northwest Township, Williams County, Ohio.
He departed from this life July 24, 1952, at the Cameron Hospital, Angola, Indiana, having reached the age of 59 years, 3 months and 3 days. He was married to Effie Johnson February 12, 1916. To this union two children were born: Kathryn Harmes of Rural Route, Edon, Ohio and Carlton Firestone of Northwest Township.
He had been engaged in farming and was a member of the Northwest Grange and the I.O.O.F. lodge. He leaves his wife, Effie; a daughter, Kathryn; a son, Carlton; his mother, Huldah Firestone of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Luella Norrick of New Haven, Ind., Helen Berry of Ft. Wayne, Ind., three grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
The family has deeply appreciated the kindness that has been shown them in this hour. They wish to thank everyone who has expressed his sympathy in floral pieces and in various other ways.
