Son of Isaac "Ike" Lewis and Narcissia Felissy Dennis Lewis. After Cato and his brother George broke into the Sandlin Store in Verona and took some merchandise, their father Ike advised them to leave the state. They both moved to Florida and stayed until they passed away. Cato married Mary A. Reed from Indiana born in 1866. She had a son, Silas John Ricketts who was listed as living with them in the 1910 Census. Cato registered for WWI on Sep. 12, 1918. They never had children of their own as Mary was much older than Cato. He was a ship carpenter at Merrill Stephens Ship Yard in Jacksonville, Florida. He passed away at the age of 31 yrs 4 mo and 4 days from complications of double pneumonia. He is deeply missed.
