KESSLER – On Sunday, December 11, 1949, at 1:30 p.m., at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Kessler, Seven Valleys RD 1, Sylvester Kessler, husband of Amanda Markel Kessler, aged 78 years, 7 months.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. Interment in Shaffer's Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9.

Sylvester Kessler Dies At Seven Valleys RD

Sinsheim – Sylvester Kessler, husband of Amanda Markel Kessler, of Spring Grove RD 2, this place, died yesterday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Kessler, Seven Valleys RD 1. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Kessler, a farmer, had gone to the home of his son Dec. 2 to assist in butchering, where he suffered a stroke. He had been bedfast since that time.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson, Mr. Kessler is survived by his wife; eight children, William Kessler, Seven Valleys RD 2; Mrs. Wilson Shearer, Mrs. Roman Strausbaugh and Mrs. Mark Fuhrman, all of Jefferson; Mrs. Stuart Peppler, Glen Rock RD 3; Mrs. Levi Bortner, Glen Rock RD 2; Albert Kessler, Seven Valleys RD 1, and Mrs. Curtis Albright, Hanover RD 1, and seven brothers and sisters: Hamilton Kessler and Mrs. Howard Gladfelter, Seven Valleys RD 2; Bert Kessler, Emory Kessler and Mrs. Hattie Senft, all of Spring Grove RD; Mrs. Laura Gladfelter, Glen Rock RD, and John Kessler, Fairfield, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. K. S. Ehrhart, officiating. Interment will be in Shaffer's Church Cemetery.
