JAMES M. "MILT" CRANE

Clinton - JAMES M. "MILT" CRANE, 94, of Route 3, died at 8:30 p.m. in Vermillion Convalescent Center. He was a retired coal miner, farmer, and owner of Crane Orchard. He was born August 7, 1891, in Clinton to Erastus K. Crane and Emma Jane Stokesberry Crane. Survivors include his wife, Margaret J. Jordan Crane; two daughters, Faye Ernestine Brown of St. Bernice and Johanna Carol Jordan of Terre Haute; one son, David Crane of Clinton; one brother, Arthur B. Crane of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He attended Center Methodist Church and was a charter member and last living member of Jonestown American Legion Post 108. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Frist Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hollis Huber officiating. Burial is in Helt's Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.
