Joseph Foos, a Civil War veteran of this place, died Monday night, at his home in E. Extension Street, of diabetes. He was born in Helt Township, making his age at death 86 years. He served in 3 companies in the Civil War; Co. D of the 85th, Co. I of the 14th, and Co. I of the 43rd. The widow Lovisa Ann Potter Foos and 9 children survive. Funeral services will be held at the home, Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Pengilly. Burial will be in the Thomas Cemetery.
