She married James R. Maska on June 1, 1936 at Severin, Kan. He died on July 5, 1984.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph's Church; the Daughters of Isabella, the Altar Society, Christian Mothers, the Association of Retarded Citizens, the Hadley Hospital Auxiliary, and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by five sons, Jim A. Maska, Joel Maska, Jake Maska, Jeff Maska, John "Rich" Maska, all of Hays; three daughters, Joanette Maska, Jenell Meyer, Juliene Maska, all of Hays; four brothers, Marcellus Schmidt and Benny Schmidt, both of Plainville, Willard Schmidt of Norman, Okla., Alfred Schmidt of Hays; four sisters, Mary Esther Munk of Oakley, Lillian Bennett of Augusta, Ga., Frances Parker, Annabelle Lietz, both of Hays; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church with Fr. Paulinus Karlin officiating. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. John's of Hays Chapel Fund. Brock's North Hill Chapel in charge.
