Dorothy Schmidt, 89, 1216 Maple, died Tuesday, April 17, at St. Anthony Hospital. She was born Jan. 16, 1890 at Catherine, the daughter of Carl and Cecelia (Schuetz) Leikam.

She married Raymond A. Schmidt Oct. 20, 1908 at Catherine; he died Dec. 26, 1969.

Memberships: Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Third Order of St. Francis.

Surviving are six sons, Marcellus and Bennie, both of Plainville, Elmer, Alfred and Dan, all of Hays, and Willard of Norman, Okla.; five daughters, Mrs. Jim Maska, Mrs. Frances Parker and Mrs. Anabelle Leitz, all of Hays, Mrs. Joe Munk, Oakley, and Mrs. J. O. Bennett, Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Conrad, Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Kate Vogel, Los Angeles; 76 grandchildren and 108 great-grandchildren.

Services at 10 a.m. Friday, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church; St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish wake is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, where friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 - 9 p.m. Thursday...
