(Note about the cemetery: It is on private owned land which BRANDON MILL was taken over by another name. But they split off & sold for one dollar, as it was a liablity since as they put it, "several" graves on the property. It was the cemetery for BRANDON MILL workers and their familes. Nobody that should know - even knew about it. When I told the he current mayor's secretary (who raised money to have statue of Shoeless Joe erected) about where it is located, she said they couldn't help because it was just outside the Greenville city limits. Since it is across the bridge from the Brandon community. The cemetery was forgotten and unknown to most everyone for so many years, except for people with family there.)

Haywood Smith and his wife Mary Ann "Annie" (Blackwell)lived on Ross Street in Brandon Community, Greenville, SC.
I have varying dates on his birth Oct 1, 1840 thru 1846.
He died Oct 1, 1914 at home. His wife Annie is buried beside him and the photo of the gravemarker with little girl was taken over 50 years ago.
She is Patricia Ann (GILLESPIE)Hunt - sitting on her gr-grandparent's memorial stone. (She is dau of Ada Smith, who is dau of Wm Alford "Alf". Alf's dad is Haywood)
