PELHAM, Sept. 16. Mrs. Cora Smith Thurston, 65, wife of William E. Thurston, 88 H street, Pelham mill, died at her home this morning at 9:25 o'clock after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Thurston was the daughter of the late Heywood and Mary Ann Blackwell Smith. Beside her husband she is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Leona Weaver, Salisbury, N. C.: Mrs. W. W. Posey, Greenville; Mrs. Grace Brady, Greer; Mrs. Edna Beck, Pelham; two sons, Eulas Thurston, Pelham; Calvin P. Thurston, Salisbury, N. C; 13 grandchildren: two brothers, Alfred and Jess Smith, Greenvillle; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Oliver, Route 2, Landrum, and Mrs. Lula Alman, Tucapau. Mrs. Thurston was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist church. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Pleasant Grove Baptist church conducted by Rev, Henry Oreer, Rev. Morris Satterfleld and Rev. Wallace Wilson. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J. D. Smith, Frank Smith, Judson Alman. John Robert Owens, Jim Owens and Yancey Oliver. The body at the residence.
