Berry Hansford "B.H." Aldridge, Jr., 80, of Waycross died Monday morning (Jan. 21, 2013) at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Waycross to the late Berry Hansford Aldridge and Florence Daniels Aldridge and lived here most of his life. Mr. Aldridge was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a former co-owner of Waycross Welding Supply for many years. After retirement he worked at Champion Plywood as a Security Guard. He was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church and always enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Owen Aldridge, Walter Aldridge, Claude Aldridge, Milton Aldridge and Albert Wilson; six sisters, Jewell Griffin, Lorene Pitts, Georgie Whiddon, Vesta Kicklighter, Mildred Roberson and Luree Dowling.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Audrey Drew Aldridge of Waycross; two daughters, Susie Jo Fitchett and her husband John, Waycross, Kathy Turner and her husband Steve of Waycross; two sons, Hank Aldridge of Swainsboro, GA, Kaleb Aldridge of Waycross; three step sons, Daniel Wiseman of Iowa, Michael Wiseman of Waycross and Richard Wiseman of Blackshear; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Aldridge of Waycross; three sisters, Evelyn Fowler of Waycross, Lucy Harris of Lakeland, FL and Mary Jolley of Statenville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11 am at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
