Leslie M. Smith 89 R.D. 1, Midland, died Sunday Jan 7, 1979 in City Hospital, East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio, Following an extended illness.

Born May 30, 1889 in Hamlin Lincoln Co., West Virginia, he was a son of the late Thomas P. and Nancy Jane Adkins Smith. He was a retired employee of Crucible Alloy Division of Colt Industries, Midland, where he had been employed in the shell plant as a chainman.

Surviving are five sons, Augbert Smith of Milton Florida, Fred Smith of Glenmore, Ohio, Carl Smith of Chester, West Virginia Frank Smith of New Brighton, Pennsylvania and Donald Smith of Dohinda, Illinois; four daughters, Mrs. Elben (Phoebe) Boswell of Midland, Pennsylvania, Mrs. William (Elva) Davidson of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Robert (Alma) Powell of Midland, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Frank (Helena) Morgan of East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio; 44 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; 6 sisters, Mrs. Leona Plumley of Smiths Ferry, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Una Cumberledge of East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio, Mrs. Melva Dingess of Newell, West Virginia, Mrs. Mary Jane Hessman, Indiana Mrs. Nelda Ruth Daniels, of Ohioville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Amogene Coleman, East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio and several Nieces and Nephews.

Friends will be received today and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the D. L. Williams Funeral Home, 848 Midland Ave., Midland, formerly Henry L. Cannon Jr. Funeral home, where a service will be conducted Thursday at 2p.m. with Rev. Robert J. Higerd, pastor of Methodist Church, Smiths Ferry, officiating. Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newell, West Virginia.
