Mrs. Leona Smith Plumley, 81 of Smiths Ferry RD 1 died Saturday Nov. 15, 1980, in the Medical Center of Beaver County, Brighton Twp. Pennsylvania. She was born Sept. 6, 1899, in Hamlin, Lincoln Co., West Virginia, A daughter of the late Thomas P. Smith and Nancy Jane Adkins Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Plumley, Oct. 24, 1966, and a son Bernard Plumley, Feb. 25, 1959.
Surviving are; 3 sons; Connard Plumley of Glenmore, West Virginia, Blennard Plumley of Glenmore, West Virginia, Dewey Plumley of Midland, Pennsylvania; 2 daughters, Mrs. Woodrow (Ilene) Robinson of Huntington, West Virginia, and Mrs. Lee McDole of Smiths Ferry, Pennsylvania with whom she lived. 16 grandchildren several great-grandchildren 5 sisters; Mrs. Una Cumberledge of East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio, Mrs. Melva Dingess of Newell, West Virginia, Mrs. Mary Jane Hessman, Indiana, Mrs. Nelda Ruth Daniels, of Ohioville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Amogene Coleman, East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio
Friends will be received this afternoon and evening in the D.L. Williams Funeral Home, 848 Midland Ave., Midland where service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. Robert J. Higerd, Pastor of First Methodist Church, Smiths Ferry. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry, Pa.
