Joseph Francis Breimayer, the eighth child of Ferdinand and Agata Bauer Breimayer, was born in Freedom Twp, Washtenaw Cty, Michigan, on 9 SEP 1872 according to his Michigan death certificate and a baptismal record from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester, MI, (Josephum Franciscum Breimeier (sic) born 9 SEP 1872, christened 24 SEP 1872) and died 11 DEC 1926 in Belding, MI. The 1873 date on his tombstone appears to be in error.

About 1880, Joseph and his siblings moved with their parents to the newly purchased farm at 3321 Hawley Hwy,Otisco Twp, Ionia, MI. Most of his siblings married and moved away before 1900. A 9 Feb 1899 tidbit in the Belding Banner News reported that Joe Breimayer "has hired out to Burdett Goodin for the summer."

On 14 Feb 1899, Joseph married Josephrinia Sofronia (aka Syfronia or Sophronia) Albert (Ionia Cty Marriages 1899 and page 24 of the Ancestry of Helen Ernestine Albert). The 1900 U.S. Census for Easton Twp indicates that they lived in a rented house in Easton Twp and that Joseph was employed as a farm laborer. The 1910 Otisco census indicates that Joseph Francis and his family resided at and owned a farm near the H. Faber farm in Section 36 and near 3321 Hawley Hwy.

The abstract for 3321 Hawley Hwy includes a will executed by Ferdinand on 3 Jan 1901 (just before his death?) that passed the farm to Agata and then to the children in shares on her death, which occurred in 1905. In 1910, the estate was probated and the interests held by the other seven children were assigned to Joseph Francis Breimayer for undisclosed reasons or consideration. The 5 May 1910 Otisco census indicates that Anthony Breimayer, his wife Mamie, and three children were residing at 3321 Hawley Hwy as renters .

In November 1917, Joseph sold 3321 Hawley Hwy to August Christian "Gus" Geiger a friend of the Hausman family residing on the adjoining farm. A 13 Mar 1918 Belding Banner News tidbit reported that August Geiger and his family had moved onto the old Breimayer farm; the newspaper also reported several social visits in 1918 between the Kopp, Breimayer and Geiger family members.

In August 1919, Gus Geiger decided to sell the farm, and Carrie Kopp purchased it for continued occupation by her daughter Mamie and Anthony Breimayer. A 27 Aug 1919 Belding Banner-News article reported that Carrie Kopp had sold her house and lot in Belding and purchased "a farm" from Gus Geiger. The 19 November 1919 Belding Banner News reported that August Geiger and family had moved onto their new farm in Keene Township that they purchased from Robert Sparks (Section 14).

The proceeds from the sale to Gus Geiger may have been used to purchase other farms The 1920 U.S. Census for Keene (Keene census) lists Joseph Breimayer and family as owners of a farm close to Mathias Laux and Leo Cowles (shown as 80 acres in the 1931 Keene township map. In the 1931 Otisco plat map, Sophronia Breimayer is listed as owner of 148 acres in Section 35 of Otisco Twp. They raised six children on these farms.
