James H. Breeds, 81, Moravia farmer, died Tuesday in Cortland Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in England and had lived in Moravia many years.

Mr. Breeds was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Cortland, and Moravia Post of Dads of Foreign Service Veterans.

Surviving are a son, John E. Breeds of McGraw; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Edith) Smith of Ottawa, Ill., and Mrs. Michael (Ruth) Bilinski of Moravia; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Whatman of Ithaca.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wade Funeral Home, 8 S. Main St., Moravia. Burial will be in Atwater Cemetery, Homer.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions in Mr. Breeds memory may be made to Four Towns First Aid Squad.
