Daniel died in the Homestead less than a week after working in the meadow, got a chill and developed pneumonia.

Son of Timothy Brandreth and Elizabeth (Hughes) Brandreth.

Father of Elizabeth (Betsey), Isaac Hanthorn, Ephriam Buck, Mary Ann, Rachel Thompson, Robert Geary, Hannah H, John G, Charles Pitman, Henry Kimble, and Mary H.

Also father of John, Timothy, Sylvia, Nancy, Betsey, Daniel and two nameless babies by first wife Nancy Ann (Aklit) Brandriff.

Daniel was very tall, over six feet and quite thin in build. His first wife Nancy was tall and thin, and all of their children who attained adulthood were very tall and spare. Daniels son, Charles Pitman Brandriff describes his father as "tall, spare in body, angular in limb, very long arms and legs, large hands and feet, a thin narrow face, high forehead. prominent Roman nose, dark gray eyes, dark hair but not black, heavy beard, dark complexion, a swinging walk or stride, in fact he was the prototype of Abraham Lincoln physically".
