Obit in The Anthon Herald, 23 February 1966, page 1: Funeral services were held Monday morning at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City for Joseph A. King, 52, of Bronson who died Thursday in a Sioux City hospital following a short illness. Rev. Frank J. Brady officiated and burial was in Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery at Anthon. Mr. King was born February 26, 1913, at Anthon where he spent his boyhood. He married Hazel Sankey March 5, 1941, in Sioux City and for 25 years had farmed near Bronson. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Joe L. and Larry J., both of Bronson; five sisters, Mrs. Marie McNear of Sioux City; Mrs. Agnes Sawin of Cherokee, Mrs. Annie Wright and Mrs. Geraldine Foley both of Quimby and Mrs. Velrene Swanger of Cleghorn; three brothers, Edward, Paul and Bill all of Quimby and two grandchildren.
∼Joseph Arthur King was born to A.J. King and the former Mary Alice McDermott.

Uncle Joe born Feb. 26, 1913 on a farm near Anthon, Iowa. Joe married Hazel Loretta Sankey on March 5, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa. Hazel was born April 9th, 1916 in Ute, Iowa. Joe died Feb. 17, 1966 in Sioux City, Iowa of complications from a farming accident at the age of 52. Hazel died on Jan. 4, 2000 at the Indian Hills Care Center at Sioux City, Iowa. Both are buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in rural Anthon, Iowa. Two children were born in this union.

Joseph LaVarene King was born on May 7, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. Joe married Carolyn Jean Williams on June 1st, 1963 at the Immaculate Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Carolyn was born May 28, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. Three children were born in this union. They divorced Oct. 7, 1978. Joe married a second time to Rita Renee Goertz on May 6th, 1963 in LeMars, Iowa. She was born Feb. 13, 1963. Joe adopted Rita's son. They they were divorced June 27, 1978. Joey has since then married Judy.

Larry James King was born on March 16, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. Larry married Diane Dorothy Hanson on April 24, 1965 at the Immaculate Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Diane was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa. Larry died on April 24, 1999 in Sioux City, Iowa after an apparent heart attack at his home at Bronson, Iowa. He was 55 years old. Larry is buried at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery rural Anthon, Iowa. Two children were born in this union.
