Grandma Mary(McDermott)King was born April 24, 1880 to William McDermott and Mary(Ryan)McDermott. She was born in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She had 8 siblings. John was the oldest and died at birth or was very young. Presently we have no record of his birth.
Cassie was born in Sept.24, 1867. She died Feb. 19, 1953.
Thomas J. was born in 1870 and died 1954. Annie was born in 1873 and died in 1947. William E. was born in 1875 and died in 1951. Edward P was born in 1877 and died in 1949. Grandma was next in line. She married Americus Joseph"AJ" King on Nov. 5, 1901 in Anthon, Iowa. "Mayme" as she was known as and AJ was married for fifty-three years. AJ was born on August 2, 1880. AJ died on May 21, 1954 at the age of seventy-three years. AJ and "Mayme" are buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in rural Anthon, Iowa. They had eleven children in this union.
Grandma youngest sibling was Clarence L. He was born in 1887. Clarence died in 1979 at the age of ninety-two years.

Footnote: William Elmer McDermott married Grandpa King's sister Carrie B. King. William Elmer McDermott is Grandma Mary "Mayme" King's brother.

Children born to Mary Alice"Mayme" McDermott King and AJ King is as follows.
Marie Elizabeth King born Sept.5, 1902.She married Lester"Mick" McNear . Four children were born to this union. Marie died Feb. 2, 1985 and Mick died Oct. 5, 1973.

Edward Patrick King was born March 17, 1905 and married Lillian Ruth Peterson. Six children were born in this union. Ed died on Feb. 21, 1980 and Lillian was born July 7, 1931 and died on Dec.16, 2008.

Agnes Lucille King was born on Jan. 27, 1907 and married Kenneth Ira Sawin on Dec. 27, 1925. Two children were born in this union.
Agnes passed away in Oct. 11, 1993 and Kenneth passed away Nov. 18, 1957.

Lawrence Elmer King was born on May 10, 1909 and married Clara Freida Harder on June 6, 1934. Three children were born in this union. Lawerence passed away July 8, 1963 and Clara passed away March 17, 1988.

Allen LeRoy King was born April 5, 1911 and married Irene Berniece Swanger on November 27, 1934. Three children were born in this union. Allen died on July 7, 1950 and Irene died on Oct. 22, 2004. Irene also married Charles Henry Pfalzgraf in Feb. 1952. Charles was born in Feb. 27, 1916 and died on Aug. 7, 1986.

Joseph Arthur King was born on Feb. 26, 1913 and married Hazel Loretta Sankey on March 5, 1941. Two children were born in this union. Joe died on Feb. 17, 1966 and Hazel died on Jan. 4, 2000.

Paul Raphael King was born on Jan. 12, 1915 and married Jean Marie Hueser Bruner on Dec. 21, 1966. Three step-children were brought into this union. Paul died away June 6, 1990 and Jean died Nov. 9, 1985.

William Daniel King was born on May 13, 1917 and married Frances Lucille Rasmussen on June 28, 1941. Six children were brought into this union. Bill died on Dec. 7, 1971 and Lucille is still living in Quimby, Iowa.

Anna Ellen King was born March 18, 1920 married Dale"Dusty" Albert Wright on March 17, 1947. Nine children was brought into this union.
Anna"Ann" died August 10, 1996 and Dusty died on Feb. 2, 1966.

Margaret"Velrene"King was born on Aug. 5, 1922 and married Robert John Swanger on March 6, 1947. Two children were born into this union. Velrene died on June 27, 2010 and Bob died on March 30, 1984.

Geraldine"Jerry" Dorothy King was born on Nov. 30, 1925 and married William John Foley on Oct. 18, 1945. Five children were born into this union. Jerry and Bill are living in Quimby, Iowa.

Mary"Mayme"McDermott King and AJ King have 45 grandchildren from this union.
