Funeral services for Lawrence King, 51, who died in a Sioux City hospital Friday night after a 2-month illness were held at 9 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee with Rev. L.J. Lynch officiating. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Cherokee. Mr. King, who farmed in Cherokee County, was born in Anthon and lived in Cherokee County most of his life. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Joan Backhaus of Lester, Mrs. Shirley Kelley of Storm Lake and Judy King at home; four brothers, Edward, Paul and William, all of Quimby, and Joe of Bronson; five sisters, Mrs. Marie McNear of Sioux City, Mrs. Agnes Sawin of Anthon, Mrs. Ann Wright of Quimby, Mrs. Valrene Swanger of Cleghorn, and Mrs. Geraldine Foley of Bronson, and one grandson.
