Mrs. Eleanor Harriet Smith, 67, wife of Donald A. Smith, Fairfield, died at the Warner Hospital Monday after an illness of six months. She was a lifelong resident of the Fairfield community and a daughter of the late Elsworth Crouse and Helen Snyder Crouse. She was a member of the Elias Lutheran Church at Emmitsburg and the Senior Citizens of Fairfield.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Mrs. Dolores McCans of Gettysburg; and Mrs. Janet Lou Elliott of Annapolis. There are seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother: Walter Crouse of Fairfield; and four sisters: Mrs. John German of Gettysburg; Mrs. Charles Bankert of Littlestown; Mrs. Richard Eversole of Waynesboro; and Miss Jessie Crouse, Gettysburg.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home in Fairfield with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald Fearer, and the Rev. Lloyd Seller, pastor of St John's Lutheran Church of Fairfield, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
