Mr. and Mrs. James Hodgon, Robt. Childers and the editor and family went to Soudan Saturday to attend the funeral of Florence Childers, who died Friday of heart trouble.
Florence was well known here, having visited with her sister, Mrs. Schaefer, on several occasions. She was a young lady of a bright and cheerful disposition and very popular among her acquaintances. She was nearly 19 years of age and had been a sufferer, more or less, for over six years. For the past six months she was out of the house but a few times.
The funeral occurred Sunday from the M.E. church, Rev. Clulow officiating, and was one of the largest ever held in Tower. McDermid Lodge I.O.G.T., of which she was a member, turned out in a body and the Odd Fellows also in a body showed respect in the affliction of a brother by following the remains to their last resting place in Lake View cemetery.
