Mrs. Whiteside, Widow of Mining Pioneer, Dies. Mrs. Agnes S. Whiteside, 88 of 1425 N. 19th Ave. E., widow of a Duluth mining Pioneer, died Wednesday in a Duluth nursing home. Born in Norway, Mich., of a pioneer family of Ely, Mrs. Whiteside came to Duluth in 1904. She was a member of the Zenith Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church. Her husband, Robert John Whiteside, had been associated with his uncle, Robert B. Whiteside, who founded the Zenith Mine and other iron ore mines on the Range and oil fields in the western U.S. Mrs. Whiteside is survived by a son, A. Owen, Minneapolis, deputy state auditor of Minnesota, two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
