CARIBOU - Simon Elbridge Anderson, 88, died May 13 in a Presque Isle hospital after a long illness. Anderson was born May 10, 1883, in West Waterville, York County, N.B., teh son of George Clemons and Victoria (Young). He was a retired farmer. On Anderson. May 19, 1908, Mr. Anderson married the former Grace Little of Caribhou. he was a member of teh Caribou Assembly of God. Surviving are his wife of Woodland; six sons, Earl, Ernest and Merrill of Caribnou, Elbridge, North Berwick, Chester, Terryville, Conn., and Gilbert of Waterbury, Conn.; seven daughters, Mrs. Ervin (Levercie) Gamblin, Mrs. William (Marrietta) Sullivan, Woodland, Mrs. Henry (Ethel) Nutting, Perham, Mrs. Darrah (Gertrude) York, Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Tibbetts, Millinocket, Mrs. Clinton (Lulu) Dyer, West Buxton, Mrs. George (Zelda) Wilco, Westbrook; a brother, James, Ashland, N.H.; a sister, Mrs. Scyrena Stairs, Temperance Vale, N.B.; 46 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Frieds may call at the Mockler Funeral Home in Caribou Satuday from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. Services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Caribou Assembly of God with teh Rev. Ralph Mugford, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Woodland.
