CARIBOU – Ernest C. Anderson, 78, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at a Caribou health care facility. He was born March 19, 1928, in Woodland, the son of Simon and Grace Little Anderson. Ernest owned and operated Anderson's Market for 15 years in Caribou and worked as a sales representative for food broker companies. He was a lifetime member of the Caribou Assembly of God Church, where he served as an elder, a Sunday school teacher, lead guitarist and gospel singer. He participated in gospel concerts to support WFST Christian Radio Station. He was an avid motorcycle rider, a member of the Pine State Motorcycle Club, enjoyed cross-country skiing, flying and snowmobiling. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Labbe-Cote Anderson of Caribou; a son, Brian C. Anderson of Presque Isle; a daughter-in-law, Sally Anderson of Bangor; a daughter, Brenda Campbell and her husband, Dale, of Washburn; four brothers, Chester of Deland Fla., Gilbert of Bristol, Conn., Merrill of Caribou and Simon Elbridge "Si" of Beaver, Pa.; four sisters, Gertrude York and Betty Tibbetts of Millinocket, Ethel Nutting of Perham and Zelda Wilcox of Westbrook; four grandchildren, Michelle Mitchell and her husband, Bill, Kimber Searles and his fiance, Theresa Jalbert, Ryan Anderson and Shannon Prestwood; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Ouellette, Joshua Prestwood, Elijah Wimbush and Kegan Mitchell; seven stepchildren and their spouses, Mike and Lori Cote of Limestone, Donald and Soraya Cote of Nashua, N.H., Karen Cote and Jeff Brooks of Hollis Center, Marc and Nina Cote of Sedalia, Mo., Ryan and Nicole Cote of Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss., Jason and Jasmine Cote of Presque Isle, Mandie and Erich Landeen of Brunswick; 27 stepgrandchildren and three great-stepgrandchildren. Ernest was predeceased by his first wife, Elene (Allen) Anderson in 1989; a brother, Earl Anderson; and three sisters, Levercie Gamblin and Marietta Sullivan and Lulu Dyer. Relatives and friends may call 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Caribou Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Rennie Tichner officiating. Interment will be at Lyndon Cemetery, Caribou. Donations may be made in his memory in support of his family to Theresa Anderson, 260 A West Presque Isle Road, Caribou, ME 04736.
