Daughter of William Brabazon Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby, and the Honourable Louisa Molesworth. Paternal granddaughter of the Rt. Hon. John Ponsonby and Lady Elizabeth Cavendish. Maternal granddaughter of Richard Molesworth, 3rd Viscount Molesworth of Swords, and Mary Jenney Ussher.
Mary became the wife of Charles Grey on 18 November 1794 at Hereford.
Together they were parents to sixteen children, with fourteen of them surviving to adulthood.
She became a widow in 1845 and never remarried.
