In 18 Mar 1820 in Mecklenburg, Virginia, Dorothy married Meredith Hailey (BIRTH 08 JAN 1798; DEATH 20 OCT 1854 Mecklenburg, Virginia) son of Philip Hailey (1770-1831) and Margaret Shotwell. Another source say he died on 1863 in Dade, Missouri.

"Meredith Hailey and Dorothy L. Andrews Hailey died in Dade Co., Missouri, not Virginia. Meredith's will was recorded in Dade County, Missouri, by his son James on November 17, 1854. Meredith and Dorothy were in the 1850 Dade Co., MO Census. They show up as Minaah and Dorothy Haley. Dorothy is in the Dade Co. 1860 Census. She is listed as Dorotha M. Hailey and is living with son James, daughter in law, Margaret and their children. There were also 2 children [assumed to be] children of her son, Meredith Jr. Her estate was probated on December 5, 1865, and one of the administrators was her son in law, Robert Cowan. There used to be a cemetery on the Hailey property in Dade Co., Missouri, just east of Bona. Meredith and Dorothy were probably buried there."
