Born August 11, 1945, in Heltonville, he was the son of Logan and Izolla (Hawkins) Todd. He married Mary Ann Stigall on August 26, 1966, and she survives.
Mr. Todd retired as a sawyer from Midland Cut Stone. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church and enjoyed bowling, mushroom hunting, basketball and spending time with the grandkids. He was a stock car driver from 1969 to 2010 at Brownstown and Bloomington and was named Rookie of the Year in 1969, Driver of the Year in 1971 and Sportsman of the Year in 2008 at Bloomington Speedway.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, of Heltonville; two daughters, Darnell Manley of Mooresville, NC, and Mechell Layne of Heltonville; a son, Travis Todd of Heltonville; grandchildren, Austin Todd, Grady Butler, Peyton Layne and Logan Manley; brothers, Otis Todd (JoAnne) of Nashville, IN, Wayne Todd (Cheryl) of Greenville, SC, Marion Todd (Alice) of Heltonville, Alfred Todd (Phyllis) of Greencastle, IN, and Elmer Todd (Susan) of Springville; sisters, Oneta Smith of Heltonville and Sharon Arthur of Smithville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Aim'ee Todd; three brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford with Jeff Hudelson and Fred Barger officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilgal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Association.
