George E. Bertler, 38 (above), of 606 York street, died Friday evening at the
Holy Family hospital, following a month's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Mittnacht funeral home
and at 9 o'clock at the Sacred Heart church, the Rev. L.M. Schorn officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
He was born in this city in 1912, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bertler Sr. He
married Miss Catherine Wegner in 1947. For the past 15 years he had been employed
in the carpet and linoleum department of the Westphal Paint and Hardware company.
He was a member of the Holy Name society and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are his wife and two daughters, Mary and Margaret of this city; father,
George Bertler Sr., of this city; five brothers, Walter, Raymond and Eugene of
this city, Ralph of Two Rivers and Donald of Millersburgh, Ohio; three sisters,
Mrs. John Cannon, Frances and Imelda all of this city.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday. The rosary will be
recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, by the Holy Name society and Knights of Columbus
and at 8 o'clock by the Daughters of Isabella.
