One Couple Sent 9 Sons to Military Service. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Aichele have a rather large and unusual family. After all, how many people in the nation can say they have had nine sons and three son-in-laws in military service from World War II. Korea and Vietnam. Jake Aichele was also in the service in World War I.

Emil, Walter, Clifford, Alfred, Jake Jr., Frank, Ervin, and Larry all served in the Army Hubert is now serving with in the Navy on and aircraft carrier off of Vietnam. He has been in the navy since 1950. Daughter Lilian is now Mrs. Raymond Sanford and lives in Boise Idaho, where her husband is the air force only a few years remain before he retires after 30 years. The husbands of daughters Florence Adams and Leona Johnson each served in the military.

Mr. and Mrs. Aichele were married in 1920, Aichele is 74 and his wife Amelia is 67 they now live in retirement in College Place, WA. Before retiring they farmed in the Touchet area where they in 1936 or 1937. They had previously lived in North Dakota.
