Joe Aichele was born June 24, 1900 in Freidenstal, Bessarabia, Russia the son of Ludwig and Katharina (Kallis) Aichele one of ten children. He was two years old when they came to the United States from Russia they went to North Dakota were Ludwig had a brother living. Ludwig lived four years after he was here. Joe grew to man hood living with his mother and stepfather northeast of Robinson. Most of his teenage years were spent living with friends and relatives. Joe loved to play cards after he retired he loved to go work in his son orchard. On Fegruary 7, 1921, he married Louisa Horn; their married life was started by living around the vicinity of Kidder County.
After Joe and Louisa family grew to four two girls Clara and Delores and two boys Lloyd and Lyle they decided to move to Milton-Freewater, Oregon around 1930 where they had Roy, Kathleen and Larry. They lived outside of Milton-Freewater on a Fruit farm till 1948 when they bought there first home in Milton-Freewater they lived on the corner Kathryn and Russell for the next 40 years. In 1965 they bout the corner house across the street it had four houses on it they lived in the big house and rented the other three.
Joe died in March of 1989 in Milton-Freewater and Louisa October 1990 in Milton-Freewater, Oregon all the children but Delores are still living Joe, Louisa and Delores are buried at IOOF Cemetery in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, USA.
