Margaret Sauer was born July 17, 1863, at Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Mathias and Elizabeth (Wieland) Sauer. On June 27, 1884, she married John Keller at Cold Spring, Minnesota. Around 1905 she moved to North Dakota with her family and they homesteaded on land near Foxholm where they raised 9 children. They also had 2 children who died as infants.

FOXHOLM PIONEER WOMAN DIES HERE AT AGE OF 64
Funeral services were held at St. Henry's church near Foxholm for Mrs. John Keller, 64, a pioneer of that vicinity, who died in a local hospital Thursday evening, December 1. Father Ott of Foxholm officiated at the funeral and interment was made in the St. Henry's cemetery.
Mrs. Keller was born July 17, 1863, at Johnstown, Pa., and later came to Minnesota, making her home at Red Lake Falls, Minn. She and her husband, who survives her, homesteaded in the Foxholm vicinity 22 years ago and have made their home there since.
Seven daughters and one son survive. They are: Mrs. William Bloms, Carpio; Mrs. John Bloms, Foxholm; Mrs. Cornell Gruntjes, Carrington; Mrs. Herman Schmitz, Foxholm; Mrs. Ed Clementich, Carpio; Mrs. Leonard Backes, Glenburn; Adeline Keller who is attending school at Willow City and who will join the sisterhood; and John M. Keller, who has been living at home with his parents.
