Florence M. Fritsch, age 89, of 325 East Circle Drive, Whitelaw, died on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.
Florence was born on Aug. 9, 1919, in the township of Franklin [Manitowoc], daughter of the late John G. and Clara (Meidl) Schamburek. She married William Fritsch Sr., on Oct. 6, 1937. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2006. Florence was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Gold Medal Mothers, Catholic Knights Clarks Mills Branch, and the Whitelaw Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: William; one daughter: Nancy Cohan; six sisters and brothers-in-law: Loretta (Andrew) Ebert; Margaret (John) Ebert; Clara Franz; Monica (William) Baroun; Elsie (Robert) Bennington; Georgianna Krall; Norbert Schermetzler; and Charles Typner; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law: John (Grace) Schamburek, George (May) Shamburek, and Robert Schamburek. Other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also preceded Florence in death.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. The Rev. Dave Zimmerman celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial, with entombment in Knollwood Mausoleum. A parish prayer service was held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continued on Saturday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
