Marie A. Gartzke, 93, formerly of New Holstein, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997 at the Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein.
She was born May 25, 1904 in the town of Brothertown, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Muellenbach Pauly.
On Oct. 4, 1924, she married Walter G. Gartzke in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1988. She attended grade school in Charlesburg. Marie was employed as a telephone operator for G.T.E. for 44 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein.
Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein with the Rev. Victor Kuerschner as officiant. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
