John Richard Hunt, aged 77 years died at 4:00 o'clock Monday afternoon in a Jacksonville hospital.
Mr. Hunt was born January 13, 1872, at Friendsville, Tenn., the son of Abraham Luther and Adeline Dunlap Hunt. He was married to Effie Gunn November 4, 1896. His wife and one daughter, Esta, preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Roy of Springfield, Luther F. of Waverly, and Charles O. of Chatham; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Cottingham of Shipman, and Mrs. Ruth Smay of Quincy; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Luther of Waverly, Frank of Modesto, and Robert of Braymer, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Ella Edwards, Mrs. James Burns, Mrs. Belle Blevins and Mrs. Laura Kempermann, of Waverly, and Mrs. George Farmer of Jacksonville.
Funeral services were held at the Wiese Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. W. A. Ogden, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating.
Burial was in East cemetery.
