Frances Schuckman, 83, Gorham, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Via Christi Village, Hays. She was born April 23, 1929, in Loretta to John E. and Catherine (Schoenfeld) Basgall.

She married John T. Schuckman on June 14, 1951, in La Crosse. He preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2003.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham. She enjoyed baking, her flower gardens, family and her grandchildren. She lived her married years in Gorham and later years in Hays.

Survivors include three sons, Glenn Schuckman, Russell, John T. Schuckman Jr., Salina, and Ron Schuckman, Hays; four daughters, Wanda Jane Becker and husband, John, Kathy Herman and Tricia Bieker and husband, Blake, all of Hays, and Cindy Reed, Russell; two sisters, JoAnn Schuckman, La Crosse, and Florence Koerner, Hays; a sister-in-law, Theresa Basgall, La Crosse; 13 grandchildren, Tony and Tommy Becker, Jessica and Ashley Herman, Clinton Schuckman, Katie Reed, Brady, Jake and Savannah Bieker, Brooke, Amber, Kaylee McGann, and John T. Schuckman III; and two great-grandchildren, Preston Jacobs and Johnny Rielle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers, Henry, Fidelis, Clarence, Everett, Sylvester, John, Jerome, Maurice and Arthur Basgall; two sisters, Mary Urban and Helen Holmeister; an infant son, Steven Schuckman; and a son-in-law, Bill Herman.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Gorham. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Mary Cemetery Fund in care of the mortuary.
