Frank R. Check, Sr., 70, of 1407 S. 23rd St, Manitowoc, died Monday noon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berrman will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Check was born March 27, 1905 at Custer, Portage County, Wis., son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Kirsching Check. He married Anna A. Kruzicki May 29, 1929 at Polonia, Wis., residing at Manitowoc after their marriage. For 45 years he had been employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring as foreman of the paint shop in 1971. He was a member of St. Mary Holy Name Society and Young Mens Club, Manitowoc Shipbuilders Foreman's Club and United Commercial Travelers.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, three daughters and sons-in-law, six brothers, Newphrey, Charles, Edward and Steve, of Manitowoc, and August and Leonard of Custer; six sisters, Mrs. Edward (Regina) Spitza of Milwaukee, Mrs. Peter (Theresa) Thrun of Custer, Mrs. Stanley (Tillie) Blarek, of Brokaw, Wis., and Mrs. Chester (Bernice) Bembenck of Schofield and 18 grandchildren. An infant daughter, a sister and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 o'clock this Tuesday evening where a memorial service will be at 7:45 o'clock.
