Roland W. Mattes, 75, of Collins, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins. The Rev. Kenneth Edenhauser will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Mattes was born March 15, 1901, at Kiel, son of the late John and Anna Lawrence Mattes. He was a lifetime cheese maker, starting at the age of 17 in the Hilbert area, active in Fairview Dairy Products Cheese Co., lifetime member of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Assn. and secretary for 15 years for Western Quality Board.
He married Frieda Berkholtz June 24, 1923 at Brillion.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda, a son (private), a brother, John Mattes, and a sister, Mrs. Harvey (Ovelia) Kleist of Collins, five grandchildren and a great grandchild. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home from 5 to 9 o'clock.
