Mrs. Evelyn Deffke, 73, of Reedsville Manor, Reedsville, died Saturday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Church of Christ, Reedsville. The Rev. Helmuth Kehle will officiate with burial in the Community Cemetery, Brillion.

Mrs. Deffke, nee Evelyn Mattes, was born Aug. 8. 1902. in the Town of Rockland, daughter of the late John and Anna Lawrence Mattes. She was married to Elmer Deffke Feb. 7, 1920, at Manitowoc. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Rockland until their retirement when they moved to Reedsville.

Mr. Deffke preceded her in death in 1973. She was a member of Reedsville Senior Citizens and U.C.C. Womens Guild.

Survivors include a son, Donald, of Brillion, a daughter. Mrs. Lester (Elaine) Krueger of Reedsville, two brothers, Roland and John, and a sister, Mrs. Harvey (Ovella ) Kleist, of Collins 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
