Rosemary Peterson, 80, of Hatton, ND passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 10:30a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. with a 7:00p.m. prayer service at Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton.
Rosemary Stavens was born February 6, 1934 in rural Hatton, ND to Thorval and Cora (Hove) Stavens. She grew up and attended school in Hatton. Some of her hobbies included puzzles, baking, sky diving with her son Brian and niece Sharlene, cross stitching, traveling, and making donuts with Shirley Ness. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Rosemary was a caretaker to so many people. She always put others before herself. Rosemary was active in the Emerado/Arvilla Lioness Club and she received the highest honor, the Melvin Jones Award.
Survivors include her sons: Timothy Peterson, Wahpeton, ND, Steven (Dawn) Peterson, Surrey, ND, Scott (Jeanne) Peterson, Thompson, ND, Brian (Annette) Peterson, Larimore, ND; grandchildren: Todd Peterson, Tyler Peterson, Brandon Peterson, Brett Peterson, Emily Peterson, Ethan Bennett; great-grandchildren: Austin Skow, Collyn Peterson, and Tylynn Peterson; siblings: Hannah Kringlie, Grafton, ND, Arthur Stavens, Hatton, ND, Emma Riley, St. Helens, OR, Elsie Hovland, Columbia City, OR; Rosemary is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, children: Diane, Michael, Barbara, Randy, Jeri, baby girl; 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and special friend Orlo Haugen.
Rosemary was married to and later divorced from LeRoy Peterson.
