Funeral services for Robert Ellis Pennington, 75, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Algoma, who died Monday at his son's home following a long illness, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Chapel in Northfork with Rev. Lee Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
He was a son of the late Abe and Clara [sic, Celia] Jane Pennington.
He was a retired employe[e] of Algoma Coal Co., and a member of United Mine Workers of America.
He is survived by two sons, Otis Pennington of Northfork and Fred Pennington of Orlando; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Vzzo [sic, Vizzo] of Wilmington, Del., and Mrs. Carl Hardin of Northfolk, Va.; three brothers, Lee and Lonnie Pennington of Bluewell and T.V. Pennington of Powhatan and one half-brother, Gaither Pennington of Northfork.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Coleman, Wilburn Sheets, Carlos McPeak, Oakley Wade, Cecil Wilson, and E.L. (Tom) St. Clair. Flower bearers will be friends of the family.
