Betty J. Smith, age 76, of 4431 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. Betty was born Nov. 2, 1928 in Manitowoc to the late Leland and Lillian Conjureski Garrigan and has been a lifelong area resident. She married Donald R. Smith Sr., on May 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2004. Mrs. Smith was employed by the Mirro Manufacturing Company for many years. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Susette and Terry Mehlhorn of Mishicot; Linda and Alan Peterik of Whitelaw; Debra and Scott Greuel of Oshkosh; four sons and three daughters-in-law: Dale LaFleur of Manitowoc; David and JoAnn LaFleur of St. Nazianz; Frank Smith and his fiancee, Lorie Klosterman, both of Two Rivers; Donald and Claudia Smith of Manitowoc; Tammy Smith of Neillsville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother: Guy Garrigan of Two Rivers; two sisters: Wava Grosshuesch of Manitowoc; Bonnie (John) Weston of Mishicot; two stepsisters: Carla (Russ) Guilette of Casco; Ida (Glen) Cosentino of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son: Edward Smith; and three brothers. Private family funeral services will be held. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Smith family with funeral arrangements.
