Richard E. Garrigan, 41, of 1232 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Monday at Veterans
Administration Hospital, Wood, following a seven-months illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. E. A.
Radey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Garrigan was born Jan. 27, 1926, at Manitowoc, son of Leland Garrigan and
Mrs. Lillian Conjurski LeFleur Garrigan. He married Elaine Bonk Aug. 18, 1945,
at Two Rivers and the couple resided at Manitowoc after marriage where he
operated a dry wall business. Mr. Garrigan, a World War II veteran, served with
the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946 as a ship's cook. He was also a member of the
Holy Name Society and the dartball team of the church.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by five daughters, Nancy, Gail, Mary
Ellen, Debra and Cheryl, and four sons, Bruce, Gary, Richard Jr., and Thomas, at
home; three brothers, Jimmy, of Ft. Dix, N.J., John, in Vietnam and Guy, of
Manitowoc; and five sisters, Mrs. Donald Smith and Mrs. John Weston, of Manitowoc,
Mrs. Roland Grosshuesch, of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Russel Guilette, of Two Rivers
and Mrs. Herman Delfose, of Casco.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30
o'clock this Tuesday evening.
