Ernest "Gene" Wells, 83, of Groveland, IL passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at OSF Medical Center.

He was born on August 2, 1931 in Danvers, IL to William Sidney Wells and Anna J. Reel Wells. He married Lois Marie Dully on October 4, 1952. She proceeded him in death on February 5, 2002, as well as their daughter, Becky Sue Wells in 1961.

He was also proceeded in death by four brothers; Ray, Donald, Willis and William.

Surviving are his daughter, Cheryl (Wayne) Hartness of Peoria Heights, IL; sons; Mike Wells of Morton, IL; Mark Sr. (Marilyn) Wells of Groveland, IL and Robert (Tammy Salsman) of a East Peoria, IL. Grandchildren, Chad and Christopher Hartness; Mark Jr. and Taylor Wells; and Heidi and Brandy Wells. Great grandchildren, Cody, Cadence and Carter. One step-grandson, Chris Smith and two sisters; Roberta (Ray) Wells and Deloris Otto.

Gene worked for Corn Products/Pekin Energy for 42 years.
