Leo E. Doede, 61, former Denmark resident, died Tuesday at his home in Seattle, Wash., following a stroke.
Although the body is being sent to Denmark for burial, the date of services is dependent upon arrival there. It is expected that the funeral will be held either Sunday or Monday at the Zion Evangelical United Brethren church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Following arrival in Denmark the body will be at the Knutson funeral home until the time of services.
Born in Germany in 1886, the deceased came to this country in 1895. He married the former Augusta Gunther of Manawa, Wis., in 1908 and came to Denmark about 25 years ago where he was employed by the Pet Milk company. Mrs. Doede died in 1939. (note – actually 1942)
Surviving are four sons, Edwin, Walter and Lester of Portland, Ore., and William of Batavia, Ill., and three daughters, Mrs. Henry Graunke of Dalas, Ore., Mrs. Fred Larsen of Minneapolis and Miss Velma of Portland, Ore.
