Theresa Atrell Copeland Hardin was born in the Bois d'Arc community near Itasca, Texas. She lived in the Itasca area for the first 18 years of her life. She moved to Dallas, Texas and married John A. "Jay" Hardin on November 21, 1925. They had one daughter, Vanita Jo Hardin Jamieson. Atrell, as her friends and family called her, became a florist and owned the Sunshine Flower Shop located at the North Central Expressway and Monticello Avenue for 25 years. She retired from the florist business in 1972. Atrell was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the St. Thomas Aquinas Altar Society. She was a former member of the Altruss Club. Atrell died of breast cancer on May 2, 1992. A Mass was held on May 5, 1992 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Interment followed at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
