Joe Clyde Copeland died on Friday, October 1, 1982, in Hillsboro, Texas at the Grant-Buie Hospital after a week long illness. Rites for Clyde, as he was known, took place on Sunday, October 3, 1982 at 4 P.M. in the Clayton Kay Chapel in Itasca, Texas. Clyde was born in Hill County, in the Bois d'Arc community approximately 6 miles northwest of Itasca on April 28, 1904. He had lived in Hill County for all of his life as a farmer and rancher. He married Margaret Smith on November 18, 1933. Clyde was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Itasca. Interment was in the Itasca Cemetery under the direction of the Clayton Kay Funeral Home.
