"CUYAHOGA FALLS - Melvin M. Phillips, 1440 Broad Blvd., died Saturday in St Thomas Hospital. He had been ill three months.

Mr. Phillips retired as a Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. employee in 1959 after 37 years of service.

He was born in Tellico Plains, Tenn., and moved here five years ago after living 39 years in Akron. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and its Holy Name Society.

A requiem high mass for Melvin M. Phillips, 1440 Broad Blvd., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. St. Joseph Holy Name Society will recite the Rosary at 7:30 tonight at the Hennessy Funeral Home."
