Floyd Phillips married Delia Watson on 25 Oct 1891. They ran a grocery store in the Rafter community from the 1920's to the 1940's.

"PHILLIPS FLOYD L., 78, died at the home of his son, Eldon, at Ringgold, Ga., Aug 29. He was a retired Monroe County merchant. Survivors: six sons, three daughters, 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, Tellico Plains Baptist Church. Burial, Rafter Cemetery. Biereley's in charge."
