Former Resident of Owosso Expires. - - Funeral services will be held in Flint and Eureka Saturday. Mr. John Kirby was a well known former resident and former manager of the West Side Hotel. He went to Flint 10 years ago. Mr. Kirby died at his home in Flint, Thursday morning after an illness of three years. Death was attributed to a complication of ailments.
A prayer service will be held at the Kirby home at 10:30 o’clock. Services will be held at 1:30 o’clock in the afternoon at a church in Eureka. Internment will take place at the Eureka Cemetery.
Mr. Kirby was born in Ashley on August 9, 1885, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kirby. He was raised in that vicinity, living there until his marriage to Miss Viola Johnson of Pompeii.
Surviving is the widow, a step-son Basil Grubaugh of Flint; a sister Mrs. Clifford Langtry of Owosso and four brothers, George and Bert of Owosso, Jay of Corunna, and Alvia of Bannister.
