Jay Kirby dead at 71, Corunna - - Jay Kirby of Parmenter Rd., Corunna, died of complications at Memorial Hospital, Owosso, Thursday evening May 9, 1963. He had been in poor health for the past 10 years. He was 71.
Funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kribs Funeral Home with the Rev. R. L. Berthume officiating. Burial will be in Freement Cemetery in Bancroft, MI.
Mr. Kirby was born September 24, 1891 in Ithaca, the son of John and Julia Ann Kirby. He resided most of his life in Shiawassee County and worked as a laborer.
He was married to Goldie Weller on October 24, 1929 in Corunna, MI.
Surviving besides his widow Goldie, are: six daughters, Miss Shelby Kirby at home, Mrs. Dorothy Warner, Mrs. Reva Krause, Mrs. Elaine Harper and Irma Harper, all of Owosso, and Mrs. Shirley Ross of Mt. Morris; two sons, Lloyd Kirby of Corunna and Jay Dean Kirby of Lake City, and 16 grandchildren.
Jay's first marriage was to Maude Douglass, daughter of Lee Douglass and Cora Bach Douglass, on December 2, 1916. They had three children:
Lloyd J., Delbert L. and Eileen.
Jay's second marriage was to Goldie E. Weller, daughter of Charles Weller and Reva Murray-Weller, on October 24, 1929. They had seven children:
Virginia Elaine, Erma Louis, Dorothy, Shirley, Reva Alice, Shelby Jean, and Jay Dean.
