Abbie married her sister Matilda's brother-in-law, Freeman Thompson Ward, on Nov. 22, 1874 in Phillipston. They had 12 children together. She was active in the Methodist Church and formerly served as president of its Ladies' Society. Abbie lived to be 4 months shy of 90.

An unnamed son was born and died the same day on January 31, 1885 at Phillipston. His final resting place is unknown.
